Sarracenias of Wang

Last month I had the honor and privilege of stopping by to visit my fellow Sarracenia homie, Mike Wang!  I am really blessed and honored to know him. We did some pollen exchanging for some (hopefully) interesting crosses in the future. I’m such a nerd and had my pollen case with me. I looked totally dorky lugging that thing around. Hah! It was after work so didn’t get a chance to get as many photos as I would of wanted since the sun was going down. Anyway, for now check out a few photos from his garden taken on 20 April, 2012. I hope to stop by again when his crops are really blingin’! Enjoy!

Coppery J’s Pink Windows

My home-boyeeee Mike Wang recently gave me another clone of Sarracenia minor var. okefenokeensis, (aka, ‘Okee Giant’).  He dubbed this particular one “Clone J” for his record keeping pleasure.  He has some awesome clones! A- I, and K-Z and whatever else he has in between is ALL just stunning stuff.  If you haven’t figured it out by now, there’s a lot of variation with Sarracenia and that’s part of what makes growing and breeding them so fun.  Endless permutations of Sarracenia bliss!  S. minor var. okefenokeensis – Clone J is a seed grown clone (Mike correct me if I’m wrong?), but I find it rather interesting as Clone J gets a coppery hood and some pink windows.  It’s almost like J got some pink tattoo’s all down her back… Awww, daaaaat’s HAWT!!!

Last week I had the honor of visiting my home-boyee, Mike Wang. He’s a rad plant genius and a freekin’ fenom when it comes to Sarracenia.    The blue pools of carnivore wonder are nothing short of captivating. I am thankful I got to witness some of his blingin’ Sarrs! It’s always a spectacular sight! His plants never cease to amaze and impress me.  Oh, and quite frankly, he’s just one awesome individual.

Mike: Bro, thanks! Always fun. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality bro! I appreciate it!  Ahem, … “cuz we be ghetto like dat!”   HAH! WORD!
