The Sarracenia leucophyllas and their hybrids are putting on a show this time of year. Below are some frames of Sarracenia leucophylla ‘Hurricane Creek White’. I received these plants from fellow Sarracenia-broski, Mike Wang. These plants originated from seed collected by Dr. Barry Meyers Rice from the original S. leucophylla ‘Hurricane Creek White’ site before the site was destroyed. The destruction of the site is a sad tragedy, and sites like these along with other natural habitats disappearing happen all too often. I’m glad that at least we have genetic representations of these plants in cultivation. I’m thankful that there are growers out there making sure that these genetics survive. Shine on, leucos… shine on!
