July

Why, Hello July. Nice to see you again.

Geez. It’s already JULY?  What happened?  The year is halfway over and didn’t we just start 2011 not too long ago?  Dude, that’s a trip.  To commemorate our cross over into July, a few random snapshots from  July 1 posted below.   Not all are photos of Sarracenia, however all are carnivorous.  Enjoy!

  1. I like very much ‘Danas Delight’ x areolata, and your U. reniformis pic looks like a painting!! Very good shot!!

    Well done Rob ;)

    • Thank you Yuri! The other ‘Danas Delight’ x areolata clones are much more colorful, this one is one I just happened to photograph at the time :) Thank you for your kind words!

  2. Great pics, Rob! Your plants look great! None of my carnivorous plants look like that. I think only my Nepenthes are flourishing.

  3. Just stunning stuff. Wow.

  4. Hey Rob, I’m tripping out about the July thing as well. It’s a little freakish, and I fear it has something to do with getting older. Isn’t there some corrollary in physics about time going faster as one ages?
Also, just a warning that I’m almost completely ignorant about carnivorous plants, so I’m definitely going to be picking your brain at Jenn’s!
Thanks for the lovely photos, as always.

  5. Thanks Derek and Katie!

Katie- no worries, I feel that way too. They’re plants. Just with neat abilities, but I don’t treat them to much differently than any other plant – other than giving them their basic requirements. They’ll catch their own meals. I don’t do much, just stick em in their media, water ‘em, sun bathe ‘em, and watch em grow!

Can’t wait to meet up soon!
