Sproutage!

Howdy y’all!  I was out checking some seeds that I started this year and to my delight, saw one sprouting!  I did this cross early on this year, harvested seed roughly a month ago, put through about 2 weeks cold stratification in the fridge and… viola!

Reptilian Rose x Adrian Slack

By the way…I did this same cross last year and only had a few seeds from that pod.  A few of those germinated but none survived. (Don’t ask…) I was so torn… anyway, hope to have better success this year.

  1. I don’t think would have the patience to hybridize anything. How long before the baby starts busting out pitchers?

  2. Hi Megan! Little baby pitchers should be visible within a couple of weeks, however those will look nothing like what it will be as an adult. As it matures, you’ll see the changes. It could reach blooming age maturity in 3-5 years. I didn’t think I would have the patience either! But the whole creative process of taking one plants characteristics and mixing with another is quite fascinating to me and gives me something to always look forward to! ;)
