Always nice to find surprises like this! I did this cross back (I think) in 2009. Possibly 2008. Eh, gotta check. From what I\u00a0recall, many of the seedlings were deeply and richly colored. (Example: see 5th photo <a href=\"http:\/\/thepitcherplantproject.com\/blog\/2011\/06\/22\/summer-solstice-seedlings\/\" target=\"_blank\">in this post<\/a> from June of last year.) Even some of the green ones exhibited a nice &#8220;chunky&#8221; veiny trait to them. In the photo to the left, you can see the older foliage just limp and blah all over the pot looking messy, however there are 3 recent pitchers that really stood out that stem from 2 of the seedlings in the batch. One plant decided to don a\u00a0mischievous yet\u00a0fiery\u00a0pink. The other is cloaked in a\u00a0sulfur\u00a0and brimstone yellow backdrop for the web of dark veins.\u00a0Seeing this color combination together made me think of fire and brimstone.\u00a0Both young siblings, though different in color, display a similar and elegantly sinister facade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8040\/8018567627_7ea875aacb_z.jpg\" alt=\"Sarracenia 'Golden Red Jubilee' x purpurea ssp. purpurea\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Sarracenia &#8216;Golden-Red Jubilee&#8217; x purpurea ssp. purpurea<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8315\/8018568071_b672eae87e_z.jpg\" alt=\"Sarracenia 'Golden Red Jubilee' x purpurea ssp. purpurea\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" \/><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Sarracenia &#8216;Golden-Red Jubilee&#8217; x purpurea ssp. purpurea<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While cleaning out the and organizing plants the other day, I stumbled upon a pot of Sarracenia &#8216;Golden-Red Jubilee&#8216; x purpurea ssp. purpurea.
