{"id":1871,"date":"2012-01-06T23:57:29","date_gmt":"2012-01-07T07:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thepitcherplantproject.com\/blog\/?p=1871"},"modified":"2013-07-31T11:24:46","modified_gmt":"2013-07-31T18:24:46","slug":"move-forward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thepitcherplantproject.com\/archive\/2012\/01\/move-forward\/","title":{"rendered":"Move: Forward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thepitcherplantproject.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/30\/2011-bring-it-on\/\" target=\"_blank\">A year ago &#8211; I told 2011 to bring it on.<\/a>\u00a0 Oh boy&#8230; 2011 brought it and brought it good for me. \u00a0There of course were the awesome and great times in 2011 &#8211; however the latter part of the year brought about a lot of rough changes. \u00a0But hey, that&#8217;s life. \u00a0 We live, we savor moments and create memories, we move forward, and we grow. \u00a0I am so forever thankful for my family and friends that were there to defend the silver lining through it all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A new year &#8211; and a new journey set before me. I am grateful for all those who were able to lend their transportation, their hands, their angry backs, &#8230; oh and their beards. \u00a0We&#8217;re almost done with only a few things left to move but a vast majority of the garden has been transferred.\u00a0 I&#8217;m leasing 1500 square feet of greenhouse space &#8212; and at the rate things are going, it mos&#8217; def is not large enough. I&#8217;ve had to downsize quite a bit actually! This provides a new environment that I am not familiar with and it will be interesting to see how I will negotiate the challenges of growing plants here.\u00a0 YES, I do prefer growing outdoors, but under current circumstances for this new season of life, I&#8217;ll park my plants here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This move would not of been at all possible without the support of family and friends.\u00a0 I wanted to share a few photos that I snapped throughout the moving process.\u00a0 YES &#8211; it was truly insane, but I have this faint glimmer of hope that it will all be worth it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7001\/6632987615_f87b713c71.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><br \/>\nThe first plants to move were courtesy of my friend Ruben. The bamboos and a few others plants were the first to go. He loaded up his truck with Phyllostachys, and Yushania anceps.\u00a0 It literally was a forest on wheels.\u00a0 I could only imagine what it looked like on the freeway with this thing so full of bamboo&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7149\/6529646941_a266798db8.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/dirtygirlgarden.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><br \/>\nMy homie Jenn<\/span><\/a> let me roll with her <a href=\"http:\/\/wildflowerfarms.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Wildflower Farms<\/span><\/a> truck.\u00a0 This truck has been put to VERY good use &#8211; rolling full of plants back and forth 15 or so trips &#8211; around a total of 300ish or so miles.
